Ptown is such a great town, lot’s to do and easy to get to. Don’t worry about parking your car, instead you should bike ride around town. All registered players receive free bike rental from our sponsor: The Bike Shack 63 Shank Painter Road, and we’ve planned a nice bike tour on Monday, September 19, so come join us.

Provincetown has supported the Ptown Classic for all these years.

From Ptown’s  tourism office to local businesses, they have  made it possible for us to afford the event. The team registration fees do not cover the tournament expenses. It is the local businesses who make the event possible with their financial support, donation or in kind service for our tournament.

Support the businesses you see in our Tournament Program

We ask each of you to do the same and support those businesses you see in our tournament program

and to let those businesses know you are part of our flag football event!

We invited this year 8 teams which is the maximum number we can host on the:

Motta Field which is grass and located at 12 Winslow Ave.

Each team will play in their bracket of 4 teams, giving them a minimum of 3 games.

Then the top two teams in each bracket will advance to the play offs.

Plan on playing 2 games on Saturday, and your 3rd game on Sunday. And if you make the play offs, you play your 4th game. If you make the championship game – you will play 5 games this weekend.

It’s important to have good officiating in sporting events and we have the best.

The Ptown Classic is officiated by the IWFFA’s best officiating crew: Jane Eldridge, Mark Walker and Renee Walker. Penalties are explained clearly, and very few penalties  (if any) will be missed by the IWFFA Ptown Officials.

Interesting facts:

A few of the players in this tournament, may be 18 yrs old, or  first generation flag football players, who played flag football in the 70’s.  Our oldest player: Maureen Travis plays on the Ptown Loose Women’s Team is inspiration to all of us by encouraging those of us who start to feel we are too old to play. The International Women’s Flag Football Association (IWFFA) is a woman’s organization who uses the sport of flag football to unite women around the world. Your never too old to play and we welcome all women of all ages and all skill levels.

The IWFFA comes back from an intensive Promotional tour this year to countries: El Salvador, Mexico, Morocco, Sweden and Spain. Some countries do not have flag football. Some countries have 5 on 5 women’s flag football teams, who want to play 8 on 8. The IWFFA travels to countries introducing the sport, or educating teams for the 8 on 8 style, and we help to develop women’s and girls flag football leagues. Women must be in charge and so we empower women not only through the sport, but by putting them as the leaders in their country’s. Women should rule their own sport and we truly support our philosophy.

Half Time Games

After each game played, we will have half time games, which are competitions in: football throw, kicks, punts, sprints, 3-legged races, wheel barrel races, etc. Prizes to the winners and any woman (player or fan) can compete. Just come to the middle of the field when Diane comes with a contest.

Each night is a social event.

One of the most popular places in Ptown, and all our teams go there to have a great time. We will have our arm wrestling contest, which we do for all our IWFFA tournaments around the world. The final international champion arm wrestling contest will be at the Key West, Fl. Kelly McGillis Classic. (this has turned out to be a huge event at our tournaments).
