Description of the IWFFA Americas Cup Challenge
The Americas Cup Challenge is in possible through the help and support of: Pablo Vicente Padilla, Presidente de la asociación Nicaraguense de Futbol Americano FENIFA
History of the Americas Cup Challenge – In April of 2025, the IWFFA traveled to Nicaragua to their school: Escuela Cristiana Nuevo, to teach their girls flag football. We trained 43 girls and started a league of 4 teams, mostly junior girls. We then brought one team from Nicaragua to the United States for international competition, who played very well. This very successful training in Nicaragua was the reason for IWFFA 2026 Central America Promotional Tour which lasted 7 weeks and traveled to: Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua to create a Junior League in each country. Another reason why the Americas Cup Challenge is a very special competition, is because for the first time the Cuba Women Flag Football team will compete internationally as well as our Junior teams, created during the IWFFA Central America Promotional Tour. With so many teams from the Americas, it made sense to call the international competition the: Americas Cup Challenge.
The Americas Cup Challenge competition includes teams from:
Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Cuba and United States of America.
From April 6 – April 10, in Nicaragua the IWFFA will conduct flag football clinics which you can join for:
